Families and friends come from far and wide to enjoy delicious Greek food, live entertainment, dancing and fun activities for the whole family. Let Markos and his Bouzouki Band take you on a musical journey through Greek culture! Enjoy a walk around our main tent with a display of unique vendors. Let kids enjoy time in the bouncy house... What We Believe

The Orthodox Church throughout the ages has maintained a continuity of faith and love with the apostolic community which was founded by Christ and sustained by the Holy Spirit. Orthodoxy believes that she has preserved and taught the historic Christian Faith from the time of the Apostles.

Our History

Founded by Greek immigrants, Kimisis tis Theotokou Orthodox Church was established in 1923 in the City of Poughkeepsie. Our first Parish on Academy Street served as the spiritual home for the Christian Orthodox community in the Mid-Hudson Valley. In 1969 our current church on South Grand Avenue was built to accommodate a growing population. Soon after this growth the Poughkeepsie Greek Festival came to fruition, an annual community tradition for over half a century!

Our Mission

Our mission is to preserve, practice, and proclaim the Orthodox Christian Faith in order to glorify God. We hope to grow and serve the Parish for generations to come. We support various cultural events and philanthropic missions throughout the year to engage with our community and to give back to those less fortunate.
